I am so excited to be sharing this post with you guys today of the 2017 Urban Oasis Home Tour! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was recently invited to tour the HGTV Urban Oasis Home 2017. The home is located in Downtown Knoxville, in a historic neighborhood known for its craftsman style homes and desirable location close to The University of Tennessee. It was a perfect clear fall day and gave the me some great light for capturing this amazing home. So without further ado lets begin the tour!
The view as you approach, it has great curb appeal & I loved the pink door!
The sitting area on the porch, perfect for people watching in the buzzing neighborbood
The family room, I appreciated that they saved all the original windows and door along with all the heat grates.
The dining room, beautifully open and bright. Notice the ceiling details!
My favorite room, the kitchen. It is a chefs dream with top of line appliances, a double oven and huge island for preparing and entertaining. They preserved the original brick wall and take notice of the stove, there is actually a door behind there! They were not allowed to move it due to the cities building codes concerning historic properties.
Hallway looking toward the entryway.
As you walk down the hallway this is the first bathroom on the left, with a beautiful walk in shower and double vanity. This room leads to the guest room.
This guest room is done with predominantly masculine neutrals, with a few feminine touches such as the canopy bed and dandelion print curtains. There is a set of double glass french doors that lead into this room that add to the romantic vibe.
This was actually a duvet that the designer didn’t use so he cut it up and used it as art instead!
The second room on the left as you go down the hallway is the Master Bedroom. I particularly like the parquet floors and the iron frame bed. This room is definetly more feminine than the guest room but I like the mix of modern and vintage design touches.
The Master Bath is just off the bedroom, with vaulted ceilings and a crisp black and white vintage hexagonal tile, its really the showpiece of the home. It’s decked out in all Kohler’s finest fixtures. With a rain shower, free standing tub and toilet that has a remote that resembles a space age video game controller, you can tell no expense was spared in this room!
The Office features two fun bunkbeds and a desk with bright colors and plenty of sunlight. This room has a wonderful warm energy to it.
Hallway leading to the back porch
Screened in porch with TV! This used to be enclosed and part of a rear apartment as the home was once seperated into two seperate living spaces.
Stairway down to garage and backyard
Multi- purpose garage that can easily covert from lounge area to utilitarian garage with built in tool storage
Fun backyard firepit!
Custom artwork on the side of the garage, referencing the two major cross streets the home is closest to
Sitting area underneath the covered porch
Artists Studio, this is where they had a commisioned artist come to do all the artwork in the home and they had her paint it before she left to add a little fun to the unused room.
View of the unfinished ground floor, I found this especially interesting as it has so much potential. It isn’t underground so it could be converted to an apartment or another whole floor to the home. It stretched almost the entire length of the house and I was a little surprised they left it undone! Oh the possibibilities!
View of the door which goes no where that I was telling you about before… On the other side is the stove.
